Active Senior Concepts starts construction in Georgia
Development firm Active Senior Concepts has started construction on a new sales and design center at the future site of Celebration Village Peachtree in Sharpsburg, Georgia, according to a news release.
The new, 341-unit senior living community will offer a range of services and a broad mix of unit types spanning active adult, independent living, concierge living apartments, assisted living and memory care suites.
The development will also include a 30,000 square-foot “Celebration Club” and a 4,000 square-foot spa and wellness center. Other amenities include sport courts for bocce ball and pickleball, along with a pavilion for grilling stations, fire pits, a putting green, walking paths and access to a private lake.
A shuttle will also offer on-demand transportation to nearby retail, dining and medical providers in the area. The community is expected to welcome its first residents in “early 2026,” the release states.
Celebration Village Peachtree will be the fifth property the ASC Group has developed in Georgia joining locations in Athens, Snellville, Forsyth County and Acworth.
Renovation underway in New York
The Harborside, a senior living community in Long Island, New York, is rebranding as The Sinclair at Port Washington, and is in the midst of a $28 million renovation effort.
The renovation effort includes plans to refresh apartments, common areas and amenities under the new ownership of Chicago-based Focus Healthcare Partners. Upgrades to the community also include a new wellness center with therapy, fitness and spa components with fully renovated apartments and refreshed common areas. A new culinary program will also be included in the refresh.
Other amenities include sport courts for pickleball and bocce ball, a dog park, greenhouse and landscaped walking paths. The community is managed by Chelsea Senior Living.

Sonida Senior Living opens new assisted living, memory care units in Ohio
Sonida Senior Living (NYSE: SNDA) announced the completion of construction of the Vista building at the Wellington at North Bend Crossing, according to a news release.
The community received appropriate state licensing requirements and can now open to welcome assisted living and memory care residents. The community also offers independent living services in conjunction with the new assisted living and memory care components.
Intergenerational center opens in South Dakota
The Sisters of the Mother of God Monastery in Watertown, South Dakota have expanded by opening the Our Little Village Learning Center for children up to fourth grade on the 485-acre campus of The Village of Harmony Hill senior living community.
Willis Senior Lofts opens in Illinois
Willis Senior Lofts, a newly-opened affordable senior housing community, recently welcomed its first residents.
The 60-unit community is designed for people 55 and older, having been developed by Lincoln Avenue Communities in partnership with Fairview Housing Partners and the Ogle County Housing Authority.
Amenities include one and two-bedroom apartment options with an on-site fitness center, theater and community garden.
LCS announced the start of move-ins at its Clarendale West End luxury senior living community in Nashville, Tennessee, according to a news release.
The community offers a full continuum of care including independent living, assisted living and memory care. Community amenities include a range of dining options including restaurants, a bistro and bar options, along with private dining for events. Other amenities include a theater, fitness center, salon, spa, courtyards and transportation to local events and appointments.
The project was developed by Ryan Companies and the community is managed by LCS.
CCRC grows in Massachusetts
The Commons in Lincoln in Lincoln, Massachusetts recently announced the expansion of 28 new units onto the continuing care retirement community’s (CCRC) campus, along with starting a renovation effort.
The new construction effort is geared at sustainability and is consistent with achieving a net-zero goal for the Massachusetts economy by 2050, according to the release. The specialized code includes a set of net-zero performance standards to meet a building’s energy efficiency, heating loads and electricity use.
The expansion includes two, three-story additions to the main building on the property, known as Russell House, in addition to the Flint House, and eight new cottage-style homes. Three of the new apartment units are designated for affordable senior housing.
Upgrades to the broader campus include new resident gardens and new units include electric vehicle chargers, dark sky compliant exterior lighting, planting native plants and meeting various energy efficiency standards.
Swifts Landing, a mixed-income community for seniors and families in Wareham, Massachusetts, is now complete, according to a news release.
The development includes 93 units for mixed-income families and seniors at 30% to 100% of the area’s median income. The project transformed a 16-acre site. In total, Swifts Landing includes a 49-unit family development with a mix of workforce and affordable apartments and a 44-unit affordable development for seniors aged 62 and older.
The community features a clubhouse with an outdoor patio, fitness center, garden, open green space, playground, wooded walking paths and landscaped grounds. The apartments include full kitchens, large closets and central air conditioning.
Brightview Senior Living opens welcome center in Virginia
Brightview Senior Living announced the opening of a welcome center at its luxury senior living community in Fairfax, Virginia, according to a news release.
The community is set to open next summer and is Brightview’s fifth community in northern Virginia and aims to capture new demand for senior living. The welcome center includes a model apartment along with a preview of amenities to be included at Brightview Northfax. In total, the property will include 200 apartments, 110 for independent living, 64 for assisted living and 26 memory care units.
Brightview Northfax amenities include a dining area for daily chef-prepared meals, a beauty salon, a fitness room, an art studio and a billiards room.
