WCBR names president, CEO
Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge has named Tyler Kendall as its president and CEO effective July 8, 2024.
Kendall will succeed Gary Selmeczi upon his retirement following a 19-year career in service to the WCBR community, according to a press release.
Kendall previously served as vice president of post-acute care services with the Hamilton Health Care System and director of operations and administrator with the Mary E. Bivins Foundation.
Lifespace Communities hires VP of human resources
Lifespace Communities has announced the hiring of Maria Mercer as vice president of human resources, effective May 13.
The role has been recently restructured, and Mercer will provide comprehensive human resources leadership to support Lifespace in its continued advancement to be the leader in attracting and retaining top talent, fostering an outstanding work environment and achieving robust business results, according to a press release.
Mercer previously worked for Hewlett Packard and Electronic Data Systems, and most recently served as vice president of global human resources and mergers and acquisitions at global tax firm Ryan.
National Church Residences promotes three leaders
National Church Residences announced the promotions of Brianna Mettler, Julie Woolley and Carrie Dean to leadership roles within the organization on May 15.
According to a press release, Mettler and Woolley have been promoted to senior vice presidents. Mettler joined National Church Residences in 2006, and oversees operations for all senior service and senior living departments.
Wooley joined the organization in 2017 as associate general counsel, and now manages the in-house legal team.
Dean has been promoted to vice president of development closings. Dean joined the team in 2016 and now leads a team of five staff members responsible for closing low-income housing tax credit financed projects, acquisitions and select refinance transactions.
Kendal at Ithaca welcomes three board members
Kendal at Ithaca announced the addition of three members to its board of trustees on May 15.
According to a press release, Justina Fetterly brings over 15 years of nonprofit communication experience to the board. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Joe Mareane brings a career of local government to the board, including nine years as the Tompkins County administrator.
Sonia Rucker brings a history in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, according to the release, and currently serves as the associate vice president of inclusion and belonging and presidential advisory for diversity and equity at Cornell University.
Morning Pointe announces executive director
Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove has named Wylie Fuller as its new executive director.
In his new role, Fuller will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the community.
Fuller was promoted from his previous position as business office manager, which he served as for seven years, according to a press release. He previously served at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Collegedale.
Executive director appointed at Benchmark at Rye
Benchmark at Rye, an assisted living and memory care community, has announced the appointment of Mallory Lord to executive director.
In her role, Lord will oversee the day to day operations of the community and replaces Nick Barash, who was promoted to regional director of operations.
Lord brings 15 years of property management experience to the position, where she most recently served as a regional property manager for New York-based Panco Management, where she oversaw six properties consisting of over 1,200 apartments, according to a press release.
Morning Pointe appoints senior executive director
Morning Pointe of East Hamilton Assisted Living and Memory Care has named Ian Shives as its senior executive director.
Shives oversees day-to-day operations in providing personalized care and services to residents and their families, according to a press release.
Shives has been with Morning Pointe for three and a half years, and previously served as the executive director at Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove Assisted Living.
Juniper Village welcomes executive director
Juniper Village at South Hills announced it has welcomed Tyler Funa as its executive director.
In his role, Funa will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the community.
Funa brings a decade of experience to the role with a “blend of professional expertise and passion for serving older adults,” according to a press release.
Juniper Village names new director of wellness
Juniper Village at Preston Hollow has named Veronica Wainwright as its director of wellness.
In her role, Wainwright will supervise and lead a team of caring professionals, provide guidance, training and support, interview residents and families, ensure comprehensive and personalized care and observe the health status of residents, according to a press release.
Wainwright brings 15 years of experience to the role, with senior living making up most of her nursing career.
LCB hires two executive directors
LCB Senior Living announced it has hired two executive directors to serve in its The Residence at Westport and The Residence at Vinnin Square communities.
Both Andrew Gillis and Addie Ricci will oversee the day to day operations of the communities they serve.
Gillis serves at The Residence at Vinnin Square and brings 30 years of experience to the position. He previously served as the president and chief operating officer for Bluepoint Healthcare.
Ricci has been brought on to The Residence at Westport and brings 16 years of experience to the role. Previously, she served as an executive director at Bridges by EPOCH.
