Morning Pointe Senior Living completes latest memory care phase
Morning Pointe Senior Living recently completed the second phase of its construction at Morning Pointe of Danville.
The community is more than 50% complete and is expected to open this fall, the company said in a news update.
The organization is adding care for earlier stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia as part of the expanding demand for the higher-acuity sector grows. Memory care services will grow to include 60 apartments and cover two-levels of care. This will be bifurcated between Lamplight, the company’s early stage Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and Lantern, for more advanced stages of dementia.
This is the 39th community for Morning Pointe and the 12th in Kentucky. The company operates communities in five southeastern states.
The Gallery at Cape Coral recently announced the opening of 150 independent living units in Cape Coral, Florida.
In 2020, the community opened assisted living and memory care. The new addition is adjacent to those spaces “creating a seamless continuum of care” at the property, the company said in a news release.
With full kitchens and chef-curated meals at the restaurant, the community also includes a rooftop lounge. New amenities also include a saltwater pool, fitness room, spa, bocce ball court and outdoor fire pit. Existing services include salon, housekeeping, laundry, transportation and curated experiences for residents.
Independent living units range between 650 square-feet to 1,100 square-feet across one- and two-bedroom layouts.
Blakeford at Green Hills completes $75M campus renovation
Nonprofit, independent senior living provider Blakeford Senior Life recently marked the completion of a $75 million, multi-year plan to renovate the Blakeford at Green Hills community.
Since 2020, Blakeford Senior Life has invested more than $75 million to renovate the campus, along with building new amenities and living spaces, alongside existing space renovations. The campus now includes a memory care campus and new independent living apartments.
Shared amenities added include an updated fitness and aquatics center along with new dining options and a physical therapy wing. Another addition included a new, 147-person capacity ballroom for future events.
Solomon Builders served as the general contractor for the project as the expansion added around 175,000 square-feet to the existing 300,000 square-foot campus. Renovations started in late 2020 and the first stage was opened in 2022. Memory care was added followed by four new dining options for independent living residents.
The fitness and aquatics center was most recently completed following the addition of 125 more residences. Work spaces were also updated for Blakeford employees.
Wingate Living recently marked the opening of One Wingate Way East in Needham, Massachusetts offering independent living.
The community’s design is centered on sustainability with the community being 98% electric with high-efficiency heat pumps, heat recovery ventilation and updated windows with low energy transmission, according to a news release on the opening. The community also features Energy Star appliances, water conservation fixtures and low-flow toilets, showerheads and faucets.
As described by the company as a boutique-style community, One Wingate Way East will offer “bespoke amenities tailored for those seeking an independent lifestyle,” the release said.
